Digibury: Open Ob, the Power of APIs and Kent Reimagined

April Digibury once again proved just how awesome our community is. Just before we were about to kick off, one of our speakers had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances.

So in true Digibury style, we turned the spotlight on the audience. But who could possibly step in at such a late hour?

Only Microsoft and Kent County Council. Yes. You read that right.

The awesome duo – Tim Gregson, Enterprise Strategy at Microsoft and Liz Harrison, Economic Development Manager at Kent County Council – not only talked about Kent Reimagined and Connecting Canterbury initiatives, they also managed to pull together a slidedeck, complete with video. Amazing.

The other speakers, Chris Roberts and Paul Hallett, were equally awesome, so here for your delight are the slidedecks from all three fantastic talks.

#1 Utilising Opus for Broadcast Audio Links

Chris Roberts has been a contributing developer for OpenOB – utilising Opus for Broadcast Audio Links – since 2013. The performance of Audio over IP is defined by the codecs used to encode and decode audio at either end of the link. #2 The Power of Web APIs

Developer Evangelist at Twilio, Paul Hallett gave a really interesting talk about the power of APIs in the modern web and how APIs are changing web app builds... complete with live demo and audience participation!

#3 Kent Reimagined

Tim Gregson, Enterprise Strategy at Microsoft and Liz Harrison, Economic Development Manager at Kent County Council talked about Kent Reimagined and Connecting Canterbury - the 'anywhere working' city, the digital layer and potential of augmented reality on our high streets.
