Our approach
Context
Deeson Online was founded as the digital division of Deeson Group by Tim Deeson in 2001. Deeson Group was established in 1959 and has marketing, content, print and publishing teams. We share a lot of clients and expertise.
We are ISO9001 quality accredited, the only top tier Acquia Enterprise Select partners in the UK, Investors in People certified and fun people to go for a drink with.
People over technology
Deeson Online is a permanent team of dedicated people who believe that good relationships equal successful projects. We want long term partnerships with our clients because, basically, it’s more fun for everyone.
What makes this possible is that we all work in one building and each of us has our own clients who we work with permanently. Our philosophy means that we can concentrate on building your site, rather than running around looking for freelancers when new projects come in.
We also run open, local events like Digibury because different perspectives are invaluable (and because we love our work).
Design and user experience
Our in-house design and user experience team sit next to our developers. This is essential for the tight collaboration our design process thrives on. Our team work together to build sites, develop digital strategies, create beautiful MailChimp email marketing templates, Twitter pages and Drupal Gardens micro-marketing sites.
Drupal development
In five years we’ve covered quite a bit of ground – technical architecture plans for large sites, Drupal integrations with enterprise CRM, payment modules and contributing code back to the community. Find out more about our Drupal development team or check out what they've been up to in the Labs blog.
Project management
We like our project managers to have been at the sharp end of digital delivery. And life for that matter. So not only do they manage timescales and budget, but they can also add valuable perspective. They're player-managers (or 'producers', as we say), who are as comfortable with a business plan and a bunch of wireframes as they are with a functional specification document.
Mobile
We do responsive sites (like this one, try changing the window size) because we understand Mobile First and the changing digital landscape. We really like digital publishing (ebooks, rich iPad books) and we think that HTML5 web apps are likely to be the future, so we make those too.
E-commerce and monetisation
We’ve produced e-commerce solutions for over ten years, with our largest clients turning over millions of pounds through their stores. We have experience of integrating with fulfilment, accounts and CRM systems using a variety of Drupal Commerce solutions. We think a lot about content monetisation and have taken a number of projects from strategy to delivery for clients including ITV and the College of Radiographers.
Content strategy and information architecture
A content strategy is essential to ensure you get the best value from a site post-launch. We work with our content creation teams to plan (and often create) frequent content updates and audit existing content. We also live and breathe metadata. Ask us about that one.
Training
A key part of a project is the knowledge and skills transfer to ensure you can get the best out of your investment in the future. Our Drupal training can cover everything from content strategy, the Drupal content management interface or training your in-house developers to be Drupal developers themselves.
